LAW OF ATTRACTION FOR NEWAGE REDNECKS

A while back my wife Andrea asked a musician friend of ours to help her to write a song. The song was to be about a lifestyle that our family lives each and every day. You see Andrea has always used the term "NewAge Redneck" to describe who we are. What is a NewAge Redneck you ask? Well if you have ever had an animal psychic reading done over the telephone to see what is wrong with your horse you are definitely a NewAge Redneck. Oh no, that means Andrea has been right all of these years!

Let me just say that our friends attempt at writing the song was good, but something was still missing from the lyrics that truly defined who we really are. Because of this, my wife asked me to take a stab at writing the song.

I have to admit that I was a little reluctant at first since I have never attempted writing a song and have no musical talent what-so-ever. But after thinking about it for a couple of days I decided to saddle up and give it a try. What I came up with is more of a poem than a song but it does capture the essence of who we are and what we have learned over the years.

We have traveled through life since the dawn of time
Continuously searching for the proverbial sign

We keep asking the same questions and expect different results
When the secret to our purpose is right in front of us

It doesn’t matter what clothes we wear
It doesn’t matter what differences we share

The collar on our shirt may be white or blue
But our commitment of service is tried and true
Our path may be uncertain but our destination is clear
RIDE’N FOR THE BRAND is why we are here

We live our lives by simple rules like the Law of Attraction, and the Code of the West
And making a positive difference in the world is the foundation for our quest

The dreams that we chase keep us focused on our mission
And through our inner child’s eyes we obtain our vision

Seeing lives changed by our effort is the ultimate prize
All we have to do is open our eyes

It doesn’t matter what clothes we wear

Taking action in our community is how we make our stand
And anything is possible when you RIDE FOR THE BRAND

The farther we travel the closer we become
As long as our hearts are full of passion and we envision ourselves as one
